The Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Microfinance (RICEM), in partnership with the Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA), is conducting a five-day training on Procurement Management in Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) for 46 participants from six DSACCOs from Western Province.
The training is taking place from 17 to 21 August 2026 and is designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge, skills, and practical understanding of effective procurement management within microfinance institutions.
Throughout the training, participants are engaging in practical sessions covering key areas of procurement management, including procurement planning, procedures, compliance, documentation, supplier management, and effective procurement practices. The sessions also provide participants with opportunities to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore practical solutions that can be applied within their respective DSACCOs.
The collaboration between RICEM and RCA reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the capacity and professionalism of cooperative and microfinance sector practitioners. By equipping DSACCO staff and leaders with relevant procurement skills, the training contributes to improved transparency, accountability, efficiency, and responsible use of institutional resources.
As the training progresses, participants continue to actively engage in discussions and practical learning activities, building knowledge that can contribute to stronger procurement systems and improved institutional performance.
RICEM remains committed to supporting capacity development in the cooperative, entrepreneurship, and microfinance sectors through relevant and practical training programmes that respond to the evolving needs of institutions and professionals.
