The Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Microfinance (RICEM), in partnership with Umwalimu SACCO, is implementing a three-week Micro Business Game (MBG) training programme aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and business management skills among 2,700 Umwalimu SACCO members across 30 districts of Rwanda.

The ongoing programme is designed to provide participants with practical and interactive learning experiences that enable them to better understand key aspects of running and managing a business. Through the Micro Business Game methodology, participants engage in simulated business situations that help them develop practical skills in decision-making, financial management, planning, and responding to different business challenges.

The training forms part of RICEM’s continued commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and practical business skills among cooperative members and communities across Rwanda. By working closely with Umwalimu SACCO, RICEM is contributing to the development of members’ capacity to make informed financial and business decisions and identify opportunities for sustainable income generation.

With participants drawn from 30 districts, the programme provides an opportunity to reach members across different parts of the country while creating a common learning experience focused on practical entrepreneurship.

The three-week programme is progressing through different training sessions, with participants actively engaging in the MBG activities and discussions. The interactive nature of the methodology encourages participants to learn by doing, share experiences, and reflect on how the lessons can be applied to their own businesses and daily financial decisions.
