From 21 to 24 December 2025, the Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Microfinance (RICEM), in collaboration with Umwalimu SACCO, successfully conducted a nationwide Micro Business Game (Nshorenunguke) training under the first intake, reaching nearly 900,000 teachers across all 30 districts of Rwanda.
The training aimed at strengthening teachers’ capacity to manage micro and small businesses through a practical and interactive learning approach. Using the Nshorenunguke Micro Business Game, participants were equipped with essential skills to support informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.

Key Focus Areas

The training covered key aspects of micro and small business management, including :
• Business forecasting, with emphasis on understanding and anticipating client needs
• Effective collaboration and relationship management with suppliers
• Strategies for dealing with competitors in a dynamic market environment
• Practical approaches to planning and managing day-to-day business operations

By combining theory with practical simulation, the training enabled participants to better understand market dynamics and apply sound business management practices in their own initiatives.
